Processes in the context of requirements, standards, tools, and checklistsAny way of viewing reality is firmly seated in the frame of reference of the viewer, and the language they use to describe how they perceive reality. Since this language often has different meanings by different individuals, in different cultures, or at different locations, it's essential to establish a context for any related discussion topic.

As an example, the word process has many varied uses, especially when considered relative to a broad view of Governance Stakeholder Needs. In some contexts, the word process is used to describe a high-level grouping of writings on some topic; in others, it's a detailed written instruction to carry out your work. Similarly, some individuals use the terms activity, phase, process, and procedure interchangeability, while others have a more formal model of process relative to these terms in mind.
